John Peterman (Des Moines Area Manager)
John has completed his 5th year of service with Haverkamp Properties. From 2003-2006, he was employed as a maintenance technician with Haverkamp Properties before moving to Portland, Oregon, where he was a property manager for two years. He started again with Haverkamp Properties in January of 2009 when he moved back to Iowa to oversee the Des Moines area apartment communities.
John was born and raised in central South Dakota. He attended South Dakota State University where he studied music, criminal justice, & psychology. He started a career in law enforcement, was certified in the state of South Dakota, and became a municipal officer. Upon moving to Iowa, John gave up hiscareer in law enforcement and started in property management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, and also likes to travel and fly small planes as he has his basic pilot’s license.
Lynette Farnham (Assistant Manager ~ Johnston Office)
Lynette has completed her 7th year of service with Haverkamp Properties. Her prior work experience includes 13 years in the business office of an ophthalmology clinic and six years as office coordinator in a social services office, where she worked with foster care, adoption and counseling programs. As the assistant manager at Haverkamp Properties, her duties include greeting residents, answering phones, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and coordinating with leasing, accounting and maintenance departments to provide the best possible service to all Haverkamp residents. Lynette also directly assistants the manager with various tasks. Lynette’s free time is spent enjoying the company of family and friends, reading, movies, gardening, walking, biking or just relaxing at home. She also enjoys traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. One of her future goals is to write a book.

Gary Grimes (Maintenance Supervisor/Technician ~ Johnston Office)
Gary has completed his 2nd year of service with Haverkamp Properties. Gary brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Des Moines communities. Before moving to West Des Moines to work in apartment maintenance, he lived in south central Iowa and worked in a factory for 15 years. Gary has around 7 years of apartment maintenance experience and is certified in many areas including HVAC, pool & spa certifications, and customer service with various other trainings. Gary also did various maintenance for home owners in the Des Moines area. Gary’s hobbies include fishing and doing wood work with his dad.
Caitlin Abbas (Ankeny Area Manager ~ Ankeny Office)
Cait has completed her 1st year of service with Haverkamp Properties. She has worked part-time as a leasing agent in the Ames office while attending Iowa State University and started in January of 2009. After graduation, she started full time in the Des Moines office as a leasing specialist and office assistant in May 2009.
In January 2011, Cait was promoted to Ankeny Area Manager and oversees the operations for the Ankeny area communities. Her responsibilities include showing apartments to prospective residents, lease signings, and general office work. In her spare time, Cait enjoys reading, seeing movies, spending time with friends and family, and going to Iowa State games!

Kevin Vore (Maintenance Supervisor/Technician ~ Ankeny Office)
Kevin has completed his 1styear of service with Haverkamp Properties. He grew up in West Des Moines and then served in the United States Navy where he gained experience as an electronic equipment repairman before moving to Kansas City, MO, where he was a licensed cable technician. Kevin eventually moved back to the Des Moines area where he worked 2 years for a large apartment community in West Des Moines as a maintenance technician.
Kevin has many hobbies which include bicycling, spending time with family and friends, but most of all, spending as much time as possible with his wife and two sons.

Afton Polk (Cleaning Technician ~ DSM/Ankeny)
Afton graduated from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Leisure Studies emphasis in Therapuetic Recreation. She also received a Certificate of Aging Studies. In her time outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love a good bargin, so most weekends you can find me at a local thrift store searching for buried treasures. I love to travel and meet new people.
